Passionate about TEDx Temecula.

by Gillian Larson

“Why Reality Rally? Why Michelle’s Place? Why TEDxTemecula?". Denee, our blogger, chatted to Anique Mautner, the Marketing Director of TEDxTemecula, to discuss the last 3 years that TEDxTemecula nonprofit has participated in Reality Rally and to hear more about TEDxemecula. Anique said, ”Reality Rally unites the community and brings the necessary publicity and exposure to women’s health issues, dealing with not only breast but other forms of cancer with the focus on Michelle’s Place. TEDxTemecula is an amazing opportunity for speakers from the area to share their ideas with people with interesting and curious minds.

This year, 3 TEDxTemecula teams participated in the event. They also set up a table in the non-profit section that was assembled to highlight the many non-profits who serve our community. Plus the 3 teams competed in the Chaity Chalice Division of the Reality Rally Amazing Race with the opportunity to win the Chalice and bragging rights and to have a visible presence of TEDx all over Old Town Temecula.

"The event is a unique way for us to do some good in our community,” she said. “TEDxTemecula is all volunteer-powered – and we are passionate about showing up for our community, both by bringing the TEDxTemecula conference to the valley as well as participating in causes that make a difference.

“And besides, Really Rally is just a really good time,” she said. “Our teams run our hearts out, even in the blistering 95+ degree weather!”

I asked Anique if she had a personal connection to supporting women’s causes. She said her close friend passed away a couple of years ago due to breast cancer, so this cause hits home and motivates her to participate – raising important funds to support women’s health awareness especially as it relates to breast cancer.

“We’ll be there again next year - and encourage everyone to get involved!”
