The Edge of Reality--A Fresh Perspective of Reality TV

by Super User

Today we have the privilege of presenting you with a few words from Allie Ludlow and Priscilla Hambleton, the co-hosts of “The Edge of Reality”. The Edge of Reality is a talk show which discusses the latest in reality TV, but with a positive and fresh twist. Allie and Priscilla are enthusiastic supporters of Reality Rally. Below, read the story behind their show and their involvement with Reality Rally!

“Reality TV has evolved over the years, due to social media it has made accessibility to the Reality Personalities so much easier. With that being said  Allie and I (Priscilla) got fed up with all the negativity involved with the interviewing. So we thought we could do something about that. We started an online interactive podcast September 2008 (originally called Reality Check Radio on Blogtalk Radio). We loved us some Reality TV and wanted to get to know the people we had watched a little better. Such as why they made moves in the game or what was the thought behind their actions. We always have felt that no matter what happened on TV, we feel that anyone on our show would be treated with respect (even if we disagree). They were brave enough to go on Reality TV. The least we could do is have a no bash policy.  This included our chat room, callers and on all our social media pages. It was easy to ban disrespectful “fans”. We did so well having guests 2-3 times a week for about a year, we decided to take a break.

In 2012 we were asked to join NDB Media on Blogtalk Radio and get back on the air. Sad to say there were several shows going by Reality Check. That is when The Edge of Reality was  born. We had just been weeks into the new show when a very kind hearted lady with a lovely accent contacted us via our (not very old) Flicker account. She introduced herself to us as  Gillian Larson. She joined us on air in September to explain the past, present and future of Reality Rally. We loved the concept so much we made it our Event to promote. We try to help in any way we can. Interviewing the celebrities to help them with fundraising, promoting it on our shows to get people to participate in anyway they can.

From when we got involved, Gillian and her team have taken this event into the future and keeps getting bigger and better. I have been involved with many large charity organizations before and compliment and applaud Gillian and her vision for putting  together the tools to always evolve with all the changes in social media and technology, to the families that benefit, to the reality family that shows up.” - Priscilla Hambleton

Thank you, Priscilla and Allie, for your support. Michelle’s Place and Reality Rally couldn’t continue their wonderful work without people like you!
