Reality Rally

I'm sure you remember CBS Survivor contestant Nina Acosta. She was the second member of the Salani tribe to leave during Survivor: One World. I was bummed. I have a special place in my heart for Survivor contestants who are over 50 and women. Nina is also a retired LAPD officer. Yep, I was bummed. I'm sure she was too, but what can you do? Life goes on. Then Nina heard about Reality Rally and attended in 2013.

I have to explain something to you that you might not be aware of. During Reality Rally, all reality TV stars go to Michelle's Place in Temecula and get to meet the amazing Watson family, the awesome Michelle's Place staff and tour the center. I've done this with the stars so I know what I'm talking about. It's one of my favorite parts of the weekend because frankly it's what Reality Rally is all about. There's a moving film that tells the story of Michelle Watson and how Michelle's Place came about. When you leave there, you know WHY Reality Rally raises funds for Michelle's Place and how important it is to support those who are fighting for their lives with breast cancer.

When Nina toured Michelle's Place, she realized that even though her time on Survivor was short, it had a purpose. Her Reality TV celebrity status would help her help Michelle's Place. Survivor was not meant to be about her, it was meant to be about what she could do for those who are fighting to be "survivors" in the real sense of the word. In 2013, Nina raised $1,206 for Reality Rally and Michelle's Place. In 2014, she more than doubled that, raising $3,575!

Now, in 2015, Nina has the amazing goal of raising more than $6,000! Here's how she plans to do it. First of all, the very generous Nina has donated $2,000 of her own money to kick off her fundraising campaign. Now, she is looking for a Corporate Match. If a corporation will donate $2,000 to Nina's Reality Rally fundraising campaign, Nina and her husband Joel will kick in ANOTHER $2,000. Michelle's Place will make good use of that $6,000, so let's all find a way to help her reach that goal.

Can you ask the company you work for if they are able to be Nina's Corporate Match? A lot of companies are more than willing to help with such a deserving charity.
